Fast forward to sophomore year. Looking around my community of fellow student-athletes, I saw a stark difference between the ever-growing science behind sports medicine and their knowledge. Myths and misconceptions led my peers to implement training practices that were ineffective, or worse, detrimental to their health and performance. I wanted to bridge that gap between science and athletes, and ResilientHer was born.
ResilientHer’s mission is to promote education, empowerment, and equity within sports to make sports a safe, supportive space for all athletes. Through education and awareness, ResilientHer aims to help athletes cut through the misinformation to reach evidence-based strategies and techniques to improve their athletic performance. Additionally, ResilientHer highlights the importance of emotional wellbeing in an athlete’s life by providing strategies and resources for navigating one’s mental health. By taking a holistic, well-rounded approach to sports medicine, ResilientHer seeks to create a safe space for female and non-binary athletes to reach their fullest potential.
ResilientHer will be releasing blog posts every other week, featuring information on training, nutrition, and sports psychology based on the latest research. We will also be featuring interviews with sports medicine professionals and other advocates for sports science and female empowerment.
